Jordan’s more correct name, since 1946, is ‘The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’. It is so-called because of the ruling Hashemite family, who have governed the country since 1921. The Hashemites trace their ancestry back to the founding of Islam and are called after Hashim, the great grandfather of the Prophet Mohammed. Read More

Greetings to all from MB.
A little explanation of the weekly photo challenge before MB gives his offering. The weekly photo challenge was conceived by four lady bloggers/photographers over one year back. Each takes their turn consecutively to post a weekly theme and the rest of the sheep, like MB, then follow suit. Read More

Thanks to Amy for this week’s framing challenge.
MB has taken this shot at many different times of the year. It’s the tree that grows in the perimeter of the Grange Stone Circle back in MB’s HX Irish homeland. This shot was taken in December 2018.

Do something a little mad!
This kid is oblivious to the adults behind him, who are just about to enter St Pauls Cathedral in Mdina, Malta, for a wedding ceremony. MB snapped the carefree kid during his May 2019 trip.

Thanks to Anne Christine for this week’s Dreamy challenge.
Who could not say that the Blue Danube is not a dreamy piece of music? Nobody!
If you happened to be in the Vrijthof Square in Maastricht last week with MB at the André Rieu concert, you just might have had a dreamy waltz in MB’s arms!
Warning – As ever, MBs vids are a tad ropey! So, on clicking onto MBs Blue Danube vid, click quickly to full screen for best viewing experience.
Dreamy or what?!

Thanks to Ann Christine for her Trees photo challenge this week.
If it’s trees you want, then you should’ve all been hanging out with MB last week in the Matka River Canyon, near Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia.
They’ve got oodles of trees over there!

Thanks to Tina for the ‘walk on the wild side‘ challenge. If followers would like to see some superb shots from Tina’s African adventures then please click on that link.
Many of the major towns and cities in the Middle East have large bird markets. The markets are not restricted to just wild birds of course. In the Bird Market at Souq Waqif in Doha, Qatar, one can find turtles, domestic pets such as puppies and kittens, and more.
Sometimes wild is caged.
