There’s a relatively little-visited hill next to the lake in MB’s HX homeland called Carraig Aile. It’s a mere 100m or so from the nearby narrow roadway, but the entrance to the farmer’s field and hill arrives at a time on one’s journey when drivers are more concerned about the rising roadway ahead, so the little signpost very often gets missed. But if you do park up your car and take the short walk, then the sights and vistas are stunning, particularly in the evening as the sun is setting towards west Limerick and the crows are making their way to the nearby rookery next to Boucher’s Castle and Ryan’s Farm which are visible below the hill.
The following shots were taken by MB one evening last week during his trip home.
