Following MB’s recent series of posts in relation to the Irish Rising of 1916, and the War of Independence that followed………………
The Irish national TV station (RTE) aired a centenary celebration show in recent days relating to the rising event and all that followed in Ireland to this day. MB is sure he has never seen a better TV show in his entire life. And thanks to friend and HX follower SC for posting a link on fb which caught MB’s attention.
One of the many many highlights of the show is Colm Wilkinson singing the U2 song ‘One’. Funny thing is, and by pure coincidence, MB posted a link on a fellow bloggers site (Sustainabilitea) only yesterday to the same Colm, belting out one of MB’s favs on Youtube, from Les Mis – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsYnhVITf9E
Centenary is a ‘hair-standing-on-the-back-of-your-neck’ show. Maybe you must be Irish and of a certain age to fully appreciate all that’s in it. But even if you do not hail from the Emerald Isle, you will enjoy it immensely MB is sure. It is a demonstration of all that’s good about MB’s home country, and possible all that is missing from the region of MB’s present abode, that results in a degree (little or large, depending on your perspective) of spiritual poverty. And more.
If you have an hour or so to spare, and perhaps a glass or two of vino to sip, MB highly recommends Centenary:
